Martin Flanagan

Martin, Xdesign’s co-founder, is one of the most decorated creatives in the southern region’s advertising industry. Today, he enjoys his retirement as a singer/songwriter.

Martin entered in the advertising business since 1973, and he has created some of the most memorable work for many of the region’s most prestigious accounts, then later founded Xdesign in 1990. In addition, he served as an assistant professor at LSU in both the School of Journalism and the School of Design where he developed a passion for training and nurturing the next generation of advertising professionals. While he has received hundreds of local, regional and national awards for creative excellence and his mentoring in the field, we’ve highlighted just a few below.

After his retirement, Martin discovered his second love—music. In 2012, he released his first album that he both wrote and produced, The Illegitimate Son of a Legend. Today you’ll find him playing music every chance he can get and spoiling his grandchildren.
